About the project
The client
Hemie.se is an online property rental platform based in Sweden that facilitates the process of finding, exchanging, and renting homes. It offers a range of services, including apartment exchanges, rental listings, and housing search functionalities tailored to desired parameters.
The project's background
Our team was approached by Hemie to provide project rescue services to finish the development of a rental platform started by another vendor and to review the overall conception of the application – from design to monetization.

The solution
The main task was to stabilize the application and get rid of the bugs to ensure uninterrupted operation under increasing load from landlords and tenants. Also, there was a decision to update the backend, there was a need to modernize the frontend components. So the process was divided into stages:

Architecture
The app experienced a significant slowdown due to its heavy reliance on client-side calculations and minimal utilization of the backend infrastructure.
Most of the logic is now transferred to the backend side, and therefore the app's performance has increased significantly.

MAIN FEATURE
The most innovative feature of Hemie's apps is a third-party exchange, which turns leasing apartments into a new and exciting activity. By making use of it, you can rent the properties between 3 people and move to each other's house easily without utilizing agents' services.
Find your dream apartment in Hemie app
Specify your preferred apartment criteria in your profile. Participate in the Three-Party Exchange on the Home Screen or your Profile page to find apartments that match your preferences.
Make a match with 2 other landlords
Сlick the Three-Party Exchange tab at the search listing and find chains matching your desired properties.
You'll see “Three Houses”, which includes you (user A), the apartment that matches your criteria (user B), and the apartment that fits user B and is interested in exchanging with you (user A).
Provide the necessary documents and information
Once you have confirmed a smooth process and an upcoming match, you can initiate a chat with the owners to share and discuss the deal details.
Move and enjoy your new homestay!
Since each user undergoes electronic identification and all legal processes do not burden you, all you have to do is start packing for moving to your dream apartment.
