About The Project

The idea
OIIO is an iOS and Android native app, backed up by an admin panel, that creates a unique specific offer allowing both SMBs or self-employed individuals and residential users to save money on electricity.
In Spain, electricity supply is provided by oligopolistic companies, so the app analyzes the electricity market to recommend each client the most cost-effective tariff as a personal advisor.

OIIO operates differently from typical comparators, aiming to provide trust. The app stands out by managing data from an unbiased perspective with no vested interest as an energy company.

Since the target audience of the app is essentially the entire set of domains, covering different layers, age groups, and other demographic characteristics of business owners, the experience had to be impeccable.
Therefore, we decided to go with native mobile development for each platform, using Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android.
The issue of utility costs is pressing in Europe, and electricity is no exception, especially for businesses. Analyzing the electricity market can be challenging due to the numerous suppliers in Spain, making expert assistance essential for consumers. Reganosa identified significant growth potential in this area.

It analyzes users' consumption patterns and billing history over the past 2 years to identify the best pricing options, providing tailored tariff recommendations with access to a comprehensive database of energy supplier rates.

React was selected for the admin panel due to its exceptional capability to efficiently manage a high volume of users and data, ensuring scalability for future growth. Also, it supports real-time data updates 24/7, that's important for the specifics of the app. 
The mobile part is backed by an admin panel – an internal web app accessible only to Reganosa employees. Its primary purpose is user verification and the authentication of the data and documents provided by users through Spanish government services.

Beta testing

Before the MVP release, Reganosa decided to test the app with a select group of SMBs and self-employed individuals, who are often overlooked by other suppliers due to their smaller energy infrastructure. This phase revealed that the average savings for participants was 23%.
